Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware forum.

Sorry for the slow answer.

1- The X4 955 is a very nice processor (I have one), but with ur buget is better get another different CPU and go with mobo AM3 and DDR3, the DDR2 and AM3 combination isn't very good.
2- U can go with an Athlon II X4 630, an ASUS M4A77TD and 4GB DDR3 G.Skill, all that is around $300 US dollars.

I need to know all the other components to suggest to u a PSU.

1- CPU
2- GPU (Crossfire or not)
3- HD
4- DVD Drive
5- RAM
6- Other components.

Usually a gaming rig have a good 550W or 650W from a good manufacturer like Antec, Corsair, PC Power and Cooling or Seasonic.

This are the power requirements for ur GPU.

Thermal and Power Specs:
Maximum GPU Temperature (in C) 105 C
Maximum Graphics Card Power (W) 50 W
Minimum Recommended System Power (W) 300 W

The recommended PSU is for the entire system, so, u can go with this CORSAIR 450W
