Hi. I just reinstalled Windows 98 after formatting, on my old computer. And I bought a Ether-net-card (Sweex-10/100Mbit PCI LANCARD), i Innstalled the driver for Windows 98 that came on a floppy with the PCI-card. And i tried to reboot the machine but i´t just doesnt seem to manage (arrives where Windows logo), then i reboot again, this time in Safe mode (I choose with network) and i get the Windows prompt. I wrote in DNS, IP and etc how it should be. Rebooted again in safemode with network The netcard´s green light is always on while the computer is on and the router light is on as well.
It´s an AMD 166, 32 RAM, very old.
I´d really appreciate any help!!!! Thanx

This is a hardware issue, not really a networking issue. Sounds like an IRQ conflict. Try changing PCI slots, or if you can manually assign and IRQ in your BIOS you may try that.
