Here are my two choices. Btw, its for an i7 860 build. 1156.

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL7D-4GBRH

CORSAIR DOMINATOR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMD4GX3M2A1600C8

I know the G-Skill has better timings on it, but Corsair is a more trusted name, and its on sale for $20 cheaper.. which one should I get? The only bad thing about the Corsair is it said the RAM is rather big and might get in the way of an after marker CPU cooler.

I lean toward the G.SKILL due to the better timings, even at the slight price increase of the Corsair. G.SKILL is becoming a very trusted name in RAM making, so don't worry about trusting them.

+1 to the G.Skill
The timings are better on the G.Skill RAM, but you likely will not notice any difference. If there is something else in your build that you can upgrade with the $10 difference, then use it somewhere else, if not, go with the G.Skill.

I prefer the Dominators, even more so if you plan on overclocking them

I recommend the GSkill RAM you've picked because of the lower latencies, it's 10 dollars more than the other combo though. You will not notice the real world difference in performance, but it's always good to get the best for a low price.

Alright, I'll go with the G.SKiILL RAM.
