HP PSC 1610

Hello
I have the HP PSC 1610 from AMerica, I moved to Norway and was told I can buy the HP 338 which is basically the same thing. However when I put the cartridge in the printer it says it is not intended for use with this printer. How can i fix this?

Next time do your own research online. The high volume ink dealers list all the possible cartridges for each model. I won't use hp, dell, lexmark, or any other brand that has a patent on the replacement cartridge design. I select a printer based on the availability of generic substitute cartridges to save money.
