Spent hours reading forums and no luck. This is what I'm doing here.

XP is the HOST and connects to the internet with it's wireless card.

Vista is connected TO the XP machine via ethernet cable (I made both a crossover, rollover, and standard to try them all).

File sharing is NOT a problem...it works fine. I have Internet Sharing enabled on the WIRELESS of the XP (which is the source for internet)...yet I was unable to find internet sharing options to check for the LAN.

Both machines are connected and see eachother but Vista says the connection is LOCAL ONLY.

XP is home edition and Vista is standard (crap).

please help....this is driving me insane... I sure miss w98.
