I recently bought a new computer and while everything else works flawlessly, I can't get my speakers to work with it. The driver is realtek audio and is being managed with Realtek HD Audio, through which I can get headphones to work and very simple speakers like my laptop portable speakers, but my boston 4.1 speakers don't do anything.

With past setups I have just plugged the one cord from the subwoofer which controls the other speakers into the digital out on my old soundblaster card, but I can neither find a digital out nor does any of the 6 places that I can plug in work.

Any thoughts as to what I'm doing wrong would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Please provide model numbers for your equipment. What amplifier is driving the Boston speakers, or what is their model number? What sound card or motherboard do you have?
