Yes it will, but you'd be better off getting an AM3 board if this is for a new build.

First, there's really no reason not to if you can afford the few extra dollars. AM2+ is fine if you are just doing a CPU upgrade, but for a new build AM3/DDR3 is a better choice. Also consider upgradability, the AM3 is newer and is more likely to support more future CPUs than AM2+.
