Desktop startup delayed

So a day ago, I bought an SSD and loaded XP onto it. It was amazingly fast (no doubt) but after I got all the hotfixs and service packs on, I experienced a very delayed boot. What happens is the desktop takes about 30 seconds to boot up. Before I had all the updates installed it worked fine. Is there any sort of windows update that is causing this to happen?

Apparently so - You can review a list of updates you installed by going to add/remove programs and checking the "show updates" box. Maybe something there will shed some light.
