What is Going ON! (Hyper Master 212-EVO)

Ok so my motherboard is the asrock Extreme4 Gen3 Z68

My Cpu is an I5 2500K

But what the hell is going on with the retention bracket (X Bracket)

The Thing wont align with my standoffs both with the heatsink and without it.

Is there some configuration to be done or something?

P.S I did apply thermal paste and then i removed the heastink. Do i need to clean the heatsink with alcohol and then reapply thermal paste? The same with the processor. Or can i just put it back on.

the x bracket goes into about 3 positions look at your manual

The manual is the biggest pile of crap ive ever read. No joke.

And i only see two positions for the x bracket.
