What is the highest anyone has heard of Overclocking a X4 940, on air?

That doesn't seem like air if CoreTemp is right. Its posting 13c (55F) which is way below normal room temp. Either they are in a really cold house or that guy is using something beyond air to cool.

nevermind 790fx boards, I can't get mine stable past 3.6 Any idea on whats holding me back beside knowledge of the subject the voltages were 1.35-1.38 range temps 45c idle 56c load

Try the voltage and memory timings. Temps look fine. I would lean more towards memory timings and voltages too.

Coretemp is never accurate, I have used it before and I came to the conclusion that as far as AMD goes "Everest" and SpeedFan are the only monitoring apps you can trust. Take a look.

I use SpeedFan 4.40 I can't get a reading on my GPU on it like that one

lol ovrclkr, our systems are very similar, i have a x4 b45 @ 3ghz(i can't move voltage),2x2gb gskill ripjaws 1333, gtx 260 216 and a 550watt ocz z series

What motherboard are you using? And why can't you adjust the CPU voltage?
