Hello,

Im installing windows 7 on my new comp and Im wondering about installing the OS on a sata drive configured to ahci. I need to have 7 installed on a drive that is in ahci mode. Should I just set the drive to ahci in BIOS and then install 7?

Thank you

I had no problem. Just set the bios to AHCI first. If you ever want a SSD with TRIM to be supported, you must select just AHCI. If you select RAID, which is a superset of AHCI, you will get raid + ahci, but it will use the intel drivers that do not yet have TRIM support.
