Ive always been an intel/nvidia fan. Im not all about having the best but i like to perform well. Right now Im on a Pentium D. I personally like my intel build by its overall looks and the parts performance. I am aware the 955 out performs the Q8400.

I would change the processor to an i5 750.

And maybe change out the gtx 275 to a Direct x11 card

Case/PSU are nice. RAM is good. HD I would change to an Samsung Spinpoint F3.

On second though I would change the RAM to this, less voltage.

That board CPU combo will save you a ton while still providing all the features you need.

The AMD build is stronger, in processing and graphics power. The 5870 performs similarly to a GTX295, and a 955 performs similarly to a Q9550. Its not really even a competition if they come out similarly in price.

For the case, you can actually save money by getting an antec 1200 with the TP-750 Blue

or you can get a HAF 922, its a bit cheaper than the Antec 902 and provides excellent airflow

Also swap the PSU for the TP-750 Blue, the TP series is better than the EA series, the blue is modular, oh and $25 cheaper.

Swap the ram for the gskills ripjaws, they are cheaper and run at lower voltage so they will generate less heat.
