and is the I7-920 worth it read somewhere that the i5 or something was better for gaming?

The i5-750 (and its big brother the i7-860) are indeed better (at stock speed) or equal (when overclocked) for gaming. The price tag is also lower and the motherboard is MUCH cheaper. Only downside is that you won't be able to upgrade as far as I know.

well i wouldnt plan on upgrading for 2-3 years down the road and when i do i probably do a complete rebuild
