Hey everyone.

So i have an old desktop computer
which i want to upgrade. Its a Fujitso Siemens computer Scaleo-P with a
AMD690VM-FMH motherboard. It has a 400w PSU 3GB of DDR2 ram and a 2.66GHz AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000 processor and the current graphic card is an Nvidia Geforce 8600gt. I want to run the ATI 5770 (XFX version) on the computer if possible.

Will my mother board support it? (AMD690VM-FMH) I heard that the the graphic card needs a PCI-E 2.0 slot to run with 100% performance and i am not sure that my motherboard has that. What i do know is that all graphic cards are compatible with the old PCI-E 1.0, but i have heard that some performance will be lost. How much performance is it? Also can my PSU handle the new graphic card? .

Thanks

it will run but minimum power requirments for 5770 are 450w bur a 400w psu with genuine wattage rating would run it fine
and also moving from pcie1.0 to pcie2.0 will not yield much improvement unless ofcourse you play games at a higher resolution say 1680*1050 or more

Well i was thinking about running on a full HD monitor 1920 x 1080 Would you see any major drop in performance then? If so how much, do you know?

Thanks
