Installing fresh w7 into a new mobo with an old HDD and keep files? Tags: Hard Drives Motherboards Intel i5 Storage Last response: April 3, 2013 3:27 AM in Storage Share xxgamxx October 2, 2011 5:00:10 PM So I jumped on the i5 deal from Microcenter forcing me to buy a motherboard to go along with it. I was wondering if I were to put this hard drive in into the new build, would it be possible to install a new copy and w7 and keep my files saved? Take in consideration that when installing W7, you opt not to format the disk, but replace the OS installed. | Report abuse Reply to godnodog Ask the community Post an answer Tom's Hardware>Forum>Storage>Installing fresh w7 into a new mobo with an old HDD and keep files?> Related ressources: ForumInstalling New SATA HDD and OS with old IDE HDD and OS ForumBought new SSD, fresh OS install but first...
