That link above is the mobo i have, and i was wondering if anyone could tell me whether i am limited to NVIDIA only or can i have ATi instead? As my Dad said that i am only able to have NVIDIA....just want to get more opinions before i do go and buy a 295...
Though I'd get an HD5870. This is a Crossfire motherboard.

Get the 5870 - it performs almost as good, is a single GPU instead of two (so better scaling, and you can put another in there in the future for good scaling), is about $100 cheaper, runs cooler, uses much less energy, and supports DX11.
I bought a GTX 295, but only because i found it used for $200... It is a great card, but i enjoy the ease of a single card setup better... SLI on any setup isnt utilizing power as much as a strong single GPU can. If your between buying them now, go with the 5870, it has all the power you need, and is DX11 which will be more useful in the long run.
@JTBomb007:
If the MB is indeed the one in the link, then you can NOT use crossfire. That MB supports SLI. Read the specifications.
You can use a single graphics card from either ATI or nVidia though.

I guess you really forgot how to read
@shadow187:
No, this MB is not a Crossfire MB, it's a SLI one.
Is there any info or speculation on when the 300 series gfx cards will be surfacing, because im sure NVIDIA are due to create a card to compete with the 5870 rite?
Currently i have 9600 GT in SLi, will the comparison between the 295GTX on its own be a massive improvement or a slight improvement? Is it worth it...
But while gamers wanting to use Crossfire technology will no doubt be quite happy with that product, those wanting to use multiple Nvidia-based graphics cards are going to have to look elsewhere.
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Its an SLI mobo. If you want to use two cards at the same time, then you will have to use nvidia. However, if you are using only one card then either nvidia or ati is good.

I have to agree, i bought my GTX 295 from a guy who had two, and didnt really care about the extra performance it gave him to the money he spent... The money your about to drop for that kind of power is not worth it right now. If your really wanting to spend that much, get one and use it until the GTX 300's come out... it will run any game that is out between now and then just fine.
i think i was hearing january, but thats just a guess... im sure you can find out with a little research. and definitely wait. I didnt see that you had 9600s in SLi, but honestly after having a 9800gtx and moving to the single 295GTX i didnt see an ultra drastic improvement like i thought i would, and id put two 9600s ahead of a single 9800. Frame rates are definitely better, but actual performance overall really didnt seem to jump all that much. i might have a very slight bottleneck at my cpu, but even with that, i was expecting more improvement. If you look around for the GTX 300 series though i think you will be more tempted to wait too, performance jump is supposed to be pretty impressive.
