ok so the motherbaord i want to buy says its standard is DDR3, but i have DDR2 memory. Can I use my old DDR memory with the new motherboard or do I have to buy new higher memory?? PLEASE HELP!

If the MB requires DDR3, DDR2 certainly will not work in the board. That's why it's written there.

As badge said, you'll need to buy DDR3 memory, as the two aren't backwards compatible.
