Can anyone tell me what the "Local SYSTEM Account" is that is found on the
"Log on" tab of the "Distributed Transaction Services Coordinator" Service.
The service is no longer able to log in and rather than change the account
it logs in with I would rather set the permission so it can be used.
Unfortunately there does not seem to be any readily available documentation
telling me what the heck the "Local SYSTEM Account" is. I don't see an
account with this name under Computer Users!
The errors I am receiving can be found below. My Com+ is screwed up and was
not fixed by a Com+ reinstall . I would just re-install over XP but can't
even run setup and reinstall due to service pack 2.
My last resort will probably be to uninstall service pack 2 and reinstall XP
Pro but I've got a ton of application including SQL Server 2000 and the .net
development environment on this machine which will probably all have to be
reinstalled if I do this.

The account that the MS DTC service is running under is invalid. This can
happen if the service account information has been changed using the
Services snap-in in Microsoft Management Console (MMC). MS DTC service will
continue to start. Please make sure that the MS DTC service account
information is updated using the Component Services Explorer.

TransactionManager->GetWhereabouts failed. If Distributed Transaction
Coordinator is configured to use remote host to coordinate transactions, it
is likely that remote host cannot be contacted. You can configure MSDTC to
use local coordinator by clicking MSDTC toolbar button in Component Services
MMC snap-in. Since further execution is impossible at this time, server
process has been terminated.
