My cpu is a Phenom II X4 965 BE, mobo is Gigabyte 790XTA-UD4. I upgrade my Windows XP 32-bit to Windows 7 64-bit. After installation, I go into My Computer properties, hardware tab and system type says 32-bit OS. In the hardware section, is doesn't say if the cpu is 64 or 32 bit anywhere. I recognized my cpu as a Phenom II X4, 965 BE, 3.40 Ghz. How or where do I go to find out if the CPU is a 64 or 32 bit version?

Thanks.

Your CPU is a 64 bit.

You can not uprade xp32 to W7 64 bit. You have to do a clean install. Well actually I dont even think you can update xp to 7 period so I am not sure what you did.

If you did a clean install of windows 7 64bit then it will say 64 bit. You did not install the 64 bit version.
