1920 x 1080

Hello, I recently bought an HP 2159v screen, which has a recommended resolution of 1920 x 1080. However when I go into the screen properties on my computer the correct resolution doesn't appear on the drop down list. I installed the drivers that came with the screen and it made no difference, I also checked to see what the highest resolutions my graphics card could display was and my screen was way within the limits. Does anyone have any suggestions?

For referance my gfx card is a ATI Radeon 4850.

Have you updated your VGA drivers too ?
4850 shouldn't have any problems showing that 1920x1080,since it supports more than that resolution too:

I have tried updating the VGA drivers aswell, all to no avail.

Is it recognizing your display properly? If it doesn't know what display you are using it may not have that resolution as an option.

You might have hit home there, it just says generic non pnp monitor. Any Idea's how I could change this?

That is probably it then.. Download the display driver and be well.
