The reason that I have changed ip address because I would like to have VPN connection between site to site and one site has already nework address of 192.168.0.x/24.

Although without even knwing the reason I should have be able to change ip address to ever I like ,,,,Shouldn't I ?

I have read the manual of that device and even played with the emulator on D-Link's site. I was not able to replicate the message, however it sounds like your D-Link cannot handle a class B network. Change the class C network to 192.168.5.0 with the the subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 Keep in mind that D-links is a home device and a class B network 172.16.X.X with the default subnet mask is 65,536 addresses. I bet this gets you out of the woods.
