Phenom ii x 4

So i have my phenom ii x 4 overclocked to 3.8 Ghz which seems to be fine for all the games i throw at it. Was just wondering an idle temp of 27C and load temp (prime 95) 40/42C was okay, and whether i should go further in my overclocking. My cpu is watercooled btw.

you would be good even at 52 degrees. I believe the max temp you should hit is 60-62. Below that all is good

my piix4 ideal at 35 and hits 45 on bf3 iis that good may be alittle higher but never over 50 i have hyper 212

Overclocking the CPU isn't going to net you much for performance gains in games unless you play at really low resolutions with a 120Hz monitor. Overclocking the GPU is a different story.
That said with those temps you still have a fair bit of overclocking headroom. Max temp for those chips is 62°C and the general consensus is to be at or below 55°C while under load/stress testing for a safe overclock.
