So i have a radeon HD 5770 and I want to have it displaying on two monitors and a tv. I have one monitor in the display port using a display port to DVI adapter and the other monitor and TV are both plugged into their own DVI port. However it will only let me have 2 displays at once. I was led to believe I could have all three. Any thoughts?

Passive or active displayport adaptor? If one of your monitors doesn't have native displayport you will need to get an active dvi-displayport adaptor.

it dosnt have a USB for power so i assume that means its passive. what is the advantage of the display port, why can i just use HDMI

You can't just use HDMI because that's how it is. I dunno the inner workings of displayport but it has higher bandwidth at least.

There must be a decent reason why, otherwise 3 normal d-sub or dvi screens would be a lot better. I'm waiting on eyefinity too so I understand you must be a bit irritated by this.

There are new lcd's coming soon (displayport) and I'm sure there will be cheaper adaptors soon too.

Keep looking out for cheap adaptors too. It can't be long now before somebody makes one.

Here it is. Eyefinity's worst nightmare for those who thought it would be that easy.

It's gonna cost you an arm and a leg to get your third monitor up and running.
Radeon should have just included this with there card. How stupid of them to offer it without the adapter.

Well at $100 it's a bit much :p

The prices will come down on these soon enough, until then its a rip-off at that price yes.

It's a ripoff to even have to buy one to work the eyefinity.. :o
