I got mine on Newegg (should be here on the 20th!). Autoreload add-on for Firefox on the Newegg 5850 product page on my 2nd monitor here at work ;) --one popped up and I snagged it. Probably pissed a lot of people off, these things are hard to come by!

Just found one on Amazon (from tiger direct). $299 + $4 shipping. 5 left when I bought 15 minutes ago, 1 left as of this writing. Keep checking (wish they had a notification feature)!

"Autoreload" firefox add-on! Go to the product page, set it to refresh every ___ (fill in the blank with whatever you wish for time) and be the first to see it available!

Ah great I wish I studied up a little more since I just now got back into gaming on the pc after a couple years, I made a bid on a used xfx 4890 extreme on ebay this morning out of impulse. Dumb me should have waited, I got curious to see what my local fry's had, and sitting on the shelf was a Diamond 5850 for $265.

Should I just go back tomorrow and buy it, and if I win the ebay bid just resell it/or trade it something else to my couisin?

Anything would be an upgrade from my, 8600gt, and I do plan to carry the new card over to a new system build in jan/feb.

What is "Fry's" and why don't I have one nearby?! lol. I paid $300 on newegg for my 5850. They seem to sell out on Newegg before the auto-notify emails are even sent out, since I bought mine within about 10 seconds of it being available ;)

I would go buy the 5850, if you win the 4890 just sell it on eBay or trade it with your cousin as you said. The 5850 is worth it, especially for that price!
