I have two Corsair sata3 180gb SSD'S that I want to set up in Raid 0 for my primary OS drive. What can I expect for read/write speeds and they will be connected to the sata3 ports. Currently I have my OS on a RevoDrive X2 that gives me 740gb/s read and 720 gb/s write. I am thinking the two sata3 SSD'S in raid will give better read/write performance ?

Intel i7 980x Extreme
24gb Corsair 9-9-9-24 1600mhz
Asus P6X58-E WS
Antec High Current Pro 1200w
3x Evga GTX 580 3gb Hydro Copper 2
OCZ RevoDrive 240gb
Cooler Master Half-X
W.D. Veloceraptor 600gb

More about : raid revodrive

Based on your list of components it appears you are a gamer. Is that correct or do you do something else with your pc?

It's sure a lot faster running (2) SSDs than the PCI RevoDrive. The read/write speed are doubled from what I saw in some of the CrystalDiskMark results posted at overclock.net. A single Crucial M4 128 Gb SSD for example (with the latest 0009 firmware version) typically gets you 500 MB of sequencial read speed. It's doubled if combining another same SSD on RAID 0 array. The sequencial write speed is also doubled. TRIM is no longer a problem as the SSD's Garbage Collection (GC) feature works with RAID array.

I'm planning to get another Crucial M4 128 Gb SSD to run on RAID 0 because of what I saw in the result.

I am actually looking for someone who has put two sata3 SSD'S in raid and could tell me thier actual read/write speeds , sorry Johnny but sometimes these articles don't address the specific question that someone might have and in my case I am asking a specific question and am looking for a specific answer. I am getting good read /write speeds but with a RevoDrive there are certian things that are not too good as compared to a hdd/ssd. For example on bootup the Revo drivers have to be loaded by the OS where a regular hdd/ssd does not. Maybe I'm nitpicking with my setup but I do like working on my computer and I'm always trying to get that last ounce of performance.
