Ddr 400 mixed with ddr 333

Hi all, I have the Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe motherboard with 2gb of ddr 400 memory. i'm using 2 of the 4 slots. I have a 1gb ddr 333 memory module and i want to put it in my machine. since its 333, will my ddr 400 memory get clocked down to 333 or will my 333 get clocked upto 400?

Ur 400MHz will clocked down to 333. But u won't see a big difference with 2GB or 3GB.

so it won't be slower to have 3gb running at 333 as opposed to 2gb running at 400?

Have 3GB at 333MHz could be the same that have 2GB at 400MHz.

Now, for Win 7 32 bits 2GB if fine, but if want more performance u need go with 4GB and Win 7 x64 for use all the 4GB.
