I take it you have a AMD/ATi card with Eyefinity? Have you downloaded the latest Catalyst Control Center?

Go into CCC, click on AMD Eyefinity Multi Display, and Create Eyefinity Group first off.

What game(s) are you trying to play?

You need to use either Nvidia Surround or AMD Eyefinity to acbieve a resolution like 5760x1080 which would be three 1080p monitors lined up like you described. In the Nvidia world to do this you either need SLI config or a single 680.

(don't let the 3d part confuse you, 2d surround is triple monitor resolutions, 3d not necessary)

AMD can achieve this without Crossfire with some cards however.
