Hi kind of new to this computer building,i need some advice on which graphics card to get with my new system im building with the i5 750,asus p7p55d,4 gigs of ram,and 500 watt psu.im using a 22inch lcd monitor.playing games like l4d,l4d2,farcry2,and modern warfare 2,is the 4850 enough for these games?or should i get the 4870 which maybe more future proof?and is there a huge difference in performance between the two? any advice will be appreciated thank you in advance

The 4870 outperforms the 4850. The 4850 is cheaper. Your PSU (assuming it isn't a cheapo unit, please don't skimp on the PSU, heh) can handle either of them. As far as future proofing, the 4870's performance is higher, so it will be more future proof (age resistant).

BUT, for the money, spend a little more, and get a 5770. It will perform like a 4870, and give you DX11 capability (4850/70 is DX10.1) and thus, will be FAR more age resistant, for only a few bucks more than a 4870.
