Ms-7253 problems

Hello everyone.
I have an ms-7253 with 1 gig of ram in the first slot and whenever I plug in a second gig the computer wont start up.
Any suggestions would be well recieved.

1Gb DDR2 667Mhz pc2-5300
The same as is recommended by crucial.com

Install only one stick in the 2nd slot and try to start up the rig.

I put the old ram in the second slot and the pc wouldnt boot up.

Well my mums pc needs some more ram so she can have both my sticks, and do you think that a 2 gig stick would work ? And if I'm going to get 2 gig on one stick should I go with a higher speed if compatable ?

1- Be sure that ur mums PC support the RAM and the mount of RAM.
2- No, ur mobo only support 2GB in two stick, that means 1GB per slot.
3- Since the 2GB stick isn't supported, the speed isn't important here.
