Is there a way to set your monitor how it displays an image?

I know monitors draw a picture line by line.

I also know that TV's interlance the odd and even lines.

I want my monitor to interlance as well.

If I'm successful at doing so, I think I can staybilize the picture a bit when doing a movie play back.

I capture with my jvc mini dv camcorder, when playing back on the tv- its nice and smooth.

When playing back through my computer on the monitor, its really shaky (jerky)- it doesnt have this smooth flow.

Maybee someone can point out my other problem I did not know about that could be causing this.
