Are all of my parts compatible with eachother

I've looked around for the best parts in my budget for about a month now, and I decided that im 100 pecent happy with my choices, except I'm not entirley sure if they're all compatible with eachother, I did as much research as I could to make sure that they were, but i need calrification.

More about parts compatible eachother
  1. Yes, they all appear to be compatible. I would make some changes to the CPU and GPU though... There's a form in my signature for Build Advice, you may want to post it in the Homebuilt section.
  2. Hi.

Seems all compatible, but IMO for the price and components is an expensive rig, U can build a better rig with the same price without somethings that U don't need.
  3. Well, we really do need more information (where you are buying from, what you are using it for), but here's a much better build that supports crossfire for only $950.

    CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 -$160-
    MOBO: Asus M4A89GTD Pro/USB3 -$150-
    RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws -$116-
GPU: Asus Radeon HD 5770 -$163-
    HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F3 500GB -$55-
    PSU: Antec TP-750 -$120-
    Case: Antec 300 Illusion -$60-
HSF: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus -$27-
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium -$100-
  4. wow thanks jakebaker lent, Im gonna take a look at that. I went to the best possible place... too

Im canadian btw so im KINDA limited. Thats a really good price, except I LOVE the case I'm getting. I will compare all of that to my list.
  5. ^U can buy the all that parts from here.
  6. You know what, I forgot to mention that the total of 1069 dollars cnd INCLUDE SHIPPING AND TAXES! What you mentioned above is out of my budget, but thanks everyone!
  7. ^That isn't a problem.

    Change this:

CPU: ADM Phenom II X3 720 $102.99. This don't comes with cooler, but U can buy the Hyper 212+ that suggest jakebaker
Mobo: ASUS M4A79XTD EVO $117.99 after rebate.
PSU: Antec 650W $109.99 can handle ur rig even with a Crossfire.
  8. ^+1
  9. you can also check

I buy stuff from them and newegg, depending which one is cheaper.

Well, If you didnt read the OP I'm getting the exact same Mobo...

As for the Tri-Core Phenom, I dont want an OEM because of the shipping stories I've read about in all of its reviews, bent pins arent nice, and I dont want to go through the trouble of RMAing anything (Im REALLY impatient.)

I want to buy a 750watt, because I plan on using it in different computers down the road. I may eventually get a very expensive video card and I want a PSU that can handle it.
  11. ^At least that U want run 2x5970 in Crossfire or 3-Way of 4-Way, the 650W can handle a high end rig with problems.
  12. Also Im really curious, why would you suggest buying a 650 watt psu with the EXACT same specs, but is only $5 cheaper?

Im getting the 750watt one my friend haha.
  13. Wait Last question, Ill give you the best answer if you answer this.

You know know it has 4 12v rails rated at 25 amps EACH?

When some video cards require more than 25 amps, is my PSU still okay even though its rails are split? Is the total amperage what the PSU really has to offer? Like for example, a 5770 may require 35amps, can I still use my PSU to do so? Or will it just lead to problems? I want a real answer... I'll give you the best answer if you give me one.

    THanks man
  14. So what are teh 12 volt rails? are they molex, or something? how can I tell the amperage of my PCI-e connectors?
  15. Yes, you'll be fine, there aren't many 750W 80+ PSUs that can't handle a single GPU ;). Remember, you're also getting power from the PCI-e slot.
  16. Maybe look at post two of my guide? It's not super in depth, but it may help you get a bit of a grasp on it.
  17. 5770 needs 35A? where do u read that?

This are the power requirements for the 5770:

450 Watt or greater power supply with one 75W 6-pin PCI Express® power connectors recommended (600 Watt and two 6-pin connectors for ATI CrossFireX™ technology in dual mode)

In futuremark the 5770 use 112W, that are 9.4A or a little more, Why?, Basic Physics Rule or electronic too:

    Where P=Power

Now, a good 500W PSU have 30A on the 12V rail. Why do u think that a 650W PSU isn't enough?. Even, I'm running my rig with a 500W PSU, when the nVidia site recommended to me a 550W PSU, I can OC my GPU, CPU an RAM without problems.

Finally, if u see here, are the Power Supplies Certified for Single Card Operation, and both the 650W and 750W are in the list.
  18. Sorry that was a bad example, I was merely giving one, but anyways... What I'm trying to understand is where the Video card gets its amperage from... does it get it from the 12volt rails, or what? Its confusing it me.

Let me try to explain further...
A corsair psu has ONE 12 volt rail rated at 58amps
the Antec psu has FOUR 12 volt rails rated at 25amps each

  19. The GPU get the amperage from the 12V rail connector, why not from the mobo? because the mobo can't handle amperages to high.
  20. So the amperage is from one of the 4 12volt rails?

Can you quickly just tell me what the maximum amperage for VIDEO CARDS is for the specific PSU? the antec truepower 750watt..
  21. also saint, if you want another free best answer, answer my question in this thread its about dvi to vga adapters.
  22. Ok.

1- For ur 1st question I can't understand very well, since I'm not from the US. Do u want to know what GPUs are supported by the 750W PSU?
    2- See the other thread.
  23. no, Im trying to figure out what the PCI-e connectors that are on the PSU, what their amperage is and where they get the amperage. The gts250 for example says it needs 24 amps.
