Please help me out. I restarted my PC and all of a sudden my USB Razor Diamondback Mouse and my Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 do not work. I am unable to even press DEL to check if somehow my bios settings changed.

Anyway, this is what I have tried so far:

1) I've tried all my USB ports on my Asus P5Q-E (8 total). Doesn't work.
2) I've tried another USB mouse. Doesn't work
3) I've tried a PS/2 to USB connector with both the two mice and keyboard. Neither work.

The keyboard and mice do not work at bootup, but they do light on and off. Also once Windows boots, they still do not work. Windows is not freezing since if i stay at the login screen long enough, the screensaver starts.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is a really weird issue to me.

Once the system is up and running, what happens when you unplug and replug the mouse and keyboard back in? Does the computer recognize that a new usb device has just been plugged in?

Ok i reset my cmos on my motherboard and now i am able to use my keyboard on bootup. I can get into the bios now and i can use the keyboard in the windows safemode menu, but once i get into windows, i cant use both the mouse and keyboard in the startup screen.
