Try swapping out the power supply for a better brand that's more efficient:

This corsair is only $5 more than the Kingwin before rebate and it's 80 Plus Certified. Higher wattage, higher efficiency, excellent brand.

If you live near a Microcenter, try getting the i7 920 for $200 and going for a better motherboard like this one:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] -_-Product

That will come to $459 just like your current combo and will net you a board that has more features and is probably better for overclocking (if you plan to do that).

This is a gaming computer, right? You'll get better hard drive performance from a Samsung Spinpoint F3 or (less so) from the Western Digital Caviar Black 640 GB.

Spinpoint F3: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] -_-Product

This will give you more space and more speed for only 5 more dollars.

A better video card:
XFX HD Radeon 4890
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applica [...] CatId=3669

It's about $70 more than your current video card, but it's a substantial increase in performance.

What resolution is this intended for?

I would check your main competitors to determine a good price. A 4890 is a better performer than a GTX 260 but unless overclocked performs slightly worse than a GTX 280. Just something to keep in mind as you compare

You need a legal copy of Windows.
Who's going to buy this for $1700 if they can get it for $1000?

1. If it all comes together and runs perfect, can I sell this system for $1700? $1500?

You could probably get away with selling this for UP TO $1500. Take a look at what your competitors are offering and make a decision. Shoot for the stars and if it doesn't sell, just lower the price.

2. Would I get in trouble selling it on eBay with the torrented Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit RTM 7600 (use activator to activate it [torrent also] installed, and backup on DVD?

You should probably just buy this:

4. Should I get one cheap CD/DVD burner and one CD/DVD reader and add also? Thoughts on Blu-Ray drives; seem to be too expensive and still make profit?

Yes, you will need a DVD drive. This will read/write DVDs and CDs and is only around $30

Are you nuts? $1700? You can get a Dell like this for $1200, non builders would buy that before this.

morton thanks for the info. I am looking at getting at getting that motherboard for sure if I can only find the i7 processor for 199.99. I am also looking at getting that graphics card you suggested as it is DDR5 and has some good reviews with crysis. I am for sure getting that hard drive you suggested.

Resolution i'm looking at is 1920 x 1200. I have a 1080p 42 inch tv I plan to use this on. See what happened is my Dell M1730 XPS laptop burned out. I burned out the dual 8800m gtx's because I had been overclocking them for about a year. I'm actually using it right now, but with no aero and am limited pretty much to browsing, listening to music and photoshop lols.

Sonic-Boom, can you give the specs on the $1200 Dell you have in mind that has the same or better RAM, CPU and graphic speeds? I would be interested.
