NVIDIA 8800GTX HELP !!

Hi,
This is my first post
just wanted a opinion of what to do since
I'm pretty hopeless when comes to hardware


I have a Dell Dimension 5150 everything standard,
and just bought Modern warfare 2
and tells me i need a new video card

going to buy a NVIDIA 8800GTX from friend
just wanted to know if theres anything i should know
or anything else i will need to update to run it
even just something else that will be good for my system

That PC only has a 305w Power supply. There is no way it will run an 8800GTX. You need a minimun of 450W and 26A on the 12V rails.

The most you could install in that PC is probably a ATI HD4670

yea u will defo need a new card for tht game the 8800gtx is a very good card (if ur gettin a good price on it) u shouldnt need 2 update anything but im not sure what psu comes with the dimension series, have u took ur power supply out and checked the wattage and volts?

Best advice would be to invest in a cheap reliable PSU that can power that 8800GTX. This PSU fits perfectly :

The 8800GTX is probably the most versatile card I saw in a while. They were like $550 new when they came out and they STILL hold their own.

BFG cards need a 30 amp per rail... The OC model need a monstrous 32 amps per rail...

So if you don't have a multiple rail PS, you are pretty much screwed.
