Will a PSU that needs 11A input current run on a 10A power cord?

Here is the specs for the PSU but it came with a 10A power cord.

Unless you are running it at full load it wont draw anywhere near that much power. Power cables are well insulated so the chances of it being an issue are low, as the only time it would ever draw anywhere near that much power is if it was trying to output all 950 watts of power at 80% efficiency, very few systems will ever require anywhere near that much power so the odds of you even encountering a situation where it needs more than 8 are low, because at 80% efficiency 8 amps will allow for 700 watts of power to the system.

hunter is right. First, you will probably never pull max power out of the PSU simply because you will never max ourt the 3.3 and 5 volt rails.

What you can do is check the power cord by touch. As long as it feels no more than slightly warm, you'll be OK.

Thanks guys for the help found out it is a bad PSU, RMA it and a new one is on its way!
!
