So I've gone through 4 disks and hours of combing through forums trying to figure this out. I have windows7 downloaded memtest86 v3.4 from the official site and am using nero10 to try and burn the .bin file into a bootable disk. Fails no matter what I have tried. Tried burning in nero using both cd-rom (iso) and cd-rom (boot) options. Tried doing just the .bin file, and all the files in the extracted memtest86 folder. Please please please freaking help. Upgraded ram and my bios at the same time and am having some issues, need to test my ram.

You have to burn the whole ISO image file. ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com/) is free and it's easy to use. Click "Write image file to disc", select the source image file (your ISO file) and that's it.

I don't have an iso image file. I have a .bin file. the iso is only available on the official site for v3.5 which is only for people using less than 4gb of ram, i have exactly 4 so i'm using v3.4. Since I have a .bin file it won't let me use the program you suggested, calls it an unsupported format. Now what.

Install it to a floppy using the batch file that's provided. If you want to use a CD, then you'll have to find an ISO (http://rs-catalog.com/download/memtest+3.4+iso.html) or create your own procedure.

Why not use version 4.10?
