My specs are the following:

Case: Corsair Carbide 500r White
MOBO: Asus P8Z68-V PRO
CPU: i5 2500K
GPU: EVGA GTX 680
RAM: 2x4GB 1600 G.Skill Ares
PSU: Corsair HX750
SSD: Crucial M4 128GB
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB
Optical Drive: Asus
Keyboard: Microsoft Sidewider X4
Mouse: Logitech G9x
Speakers: 5.1 Logitech X-540
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
Monitor: Asus VS248
Wireless Adapter: Rosewill RNX-N250PCe

First let me start off by saying I'm currently running only 1 dimm of RAM because I was having trouble running both faulty stick maybe but anyways. I'd like to overclock my CPU to somewhere around 4.5ghz and I know NOTHING about overclocking so how should i go about doing this? Can someone please point me in the right direction. I do understand that not all systems are the same and some people can achieve overclocks that others cannot. I just recently put this system together and would like to overclock cpu, ram, & gpu. Any help is appreciated. Thank you. If any other information is needed let me know.

Have you tried reading our basic guide? It's easy to do a simple CPU overclock and our guide is very easy to understand.
You won't need to overclock your RAM and the GPU can be easily overclocked in RivaTuner or a similar program. I think there's one made for Nvidia graphics cards
