Hey all,

There was a thunderstorm and I have my computer on a power strip. I never bought a surge protector (stupid I know but I forgot) and I am kind of a computer nerd, I built this one with my friends help this summer. Anyway, there was a storm and all the power went out for a couple of seconds while I had my computer on. Now it won't turn on and I don't know what to do. Was my motherboard fried? Did it also fry my graphics card and Ram and all that stuff? If so, is there anything I can do besides just suck it up and buy all new equipment? Please help!! Thank you.

Yeh...get a computer similar to yours and start testing your parts on it.

Really, the most likely things to take most of the damage are the power supply and motherboard. Borrow a power supply and see if you can get it running, if not try a new motherboard.
