Server or Desktop CPUS (database programs like iTunes)

I mainly use my desktop to manage my media. Is a server or a desktop processor a better value? Most of my programs I run are database intensive. Does CPU choice matter?

  1. Server processors main differences from desktop processors is that they are the highest quality processors and they can run different lines of code. Their is no reason to get a server processor unless you are running an actual server. Itunes and database programs don't need a server processor.
  2. The main attraction of the server processor is the ability to run more than one together on a single server board.

You don't need a server processor.
