HP laptops

I have an HP dv6000 (dv6700) laptop that boots up fine, runs for about 10-15 min. and then just turns off.
if I start it up right away it will go right back off. if I wait about 10min it will boot up and run again for 10min or so.

motherboard chip or video chip over heating?

Check if the fan is working.

Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware forum.

The HP laptops have heat problems, that means that when the laptop is very hot, the RAM slot stop working and ur laptop turns off without a error message.

For solve the issue u need buy one of this Laptop cooler, be sure that the dimensions are the corrects for your laptop.

Not all HP laptops have heat problems. Maybe the dv6000 does, but my 6730b doesn't.

^Yeah, u are right. Not all the HP laptops have this problem, but a big percent of this have heating problems.
