Wd passport 1tb problems

Hello,
I just bought the WD passport 1tb, loaded the drivers to my Vista OP. Ran a back up for the first time and had 1200 word, excel and PDF files it said could not back up. I was able to send to the files to the drive and the files did look like the files where there but the back up driver still said the files where not backed up, even after shuting down and restarting. Any ideas how to clear this up?

I ran into something similar, though not quite so voluminous. It was a problem of the path/filename being too long. My solution was to shorten the path and it worked fine.
