Will xp 32 bit run on new build

Would like to build workstation for office with p7p55d but stay with xp 32 bit which I have. Manual states os only xp 64bit, vista, etc. Can I build with 32 bit or should i get xp 64 bit or vista 64 bit or 7. This computer will run simple programs on a network but want to use decent parts not older ones in case i have to upgrade . Sorry posted also on asus motherboard site but this may be more appropriate. Thanks

If you have 2GB RAM or more, windows 7 64 is clearly a better choice.
