A q about the game

ok what would cause it to run choppy i have more than nough memory 512 and
im on x and my processor is past the normal can my video card be causing the
trouble?

The video card plays an important part here. Just look at the environment in
Sims 2: Everything is 3D! Not only is it 3D it also has very realistic lightning
and geometry. Try moving the lights and lamps around and you'll immediately see
the illumination change. Also look closely at the wires behind the television
and other household appliances, they are all rendered by the video card!

Try to lower the graphics details (the monitor icon/button in game options) and
resolution (maybe 800x600 or less) and see if that makes the game less choppy.

Also try to minimise any useless background tasks as they hog up your processor.
