How do i install windows xp in portege 3110c

Buy a USB external CD unit and use a Windows XP CD to reinstall the system. WHy do you think you need to take such drastic action? Most problems can be fixed without reinstalling the whole system.

Thank you for your answer but i want to ask you one more question,the portege laptop which am using only boot from Floppy-Lan -HDD,there is no boot from CD-ROM,so how can you help me?should i use your idea of using a USB external-CD-ROM or there is another way.Help me so that i can recorver my poor laptop.

When you plug in an external USB powered CD ROM, the additoinal option should appear in boot options. If it doesn't, or better still before you buy one, check in the BIOS settings that USB Legacy Support is available and is enabled. I can't believe it won't be but it's best to make sure before you spend anything.

So long as that possibility exists, the boot options will include a USB device.
