APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: 1-2 weeks

BUDGET RANGE: 750-900$

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: 1.Gaming 2.Gaming 3.Gaming ...if you know what I mean :ange:

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, OS

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: newegg.com to show the PC parts, I`ll be buying from a local Latvian site (m79.lv if that matters for anyone - most likely not) with less variety, but I wont have to pay for shipping and service is easily available.

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: Latvia (Eastern Europe)

PARTS PREFERENCES: I love Intel & Nvidia (especially second) and I`d like to stick to those

OVERCLOCKING: No

SLI OR CROSSFIRE: No

MONITOR RESOLUTION: (1280x1024 with my superold LG FLATRON L1730S, but when I finally upgrade monitor as well I might go as high as 1920x1080)

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I mostly play RPG games that have lower requirements in general (or at least I think so), but as I`m not planning to upgrade for quite a few years (I`m using my current PC for over 6 years now which is well above average I guess) I`d like to get a decent build for a reasonable price.

I`ve spent quite some time on figuring out how much I want and how much money I want to spend on it and right now I`m mostly worried if all the parts (I believe they are pretty decent on their own) are well compatible and should work smoothly together.

WHAT I HAVE SELECTED:

Antec Three Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST3500418AS 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3LR LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard

GIGABYTE GV-N250OC-1GI Rev 2.0 GeForce GTS 250 1GB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz 6MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor

CORSAIR CMPSU-550VX 550W ATX12V V2.2 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply

Kingston HyperX 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 Desktop Memory Model KHX8500D2K2/4G

Look for the Antec 300 Illusion so you get the two front fans already installed.

For a Socket 775 build that looks OK. Socket 775 is dead-end and is overpriced here in the US, AMD AM3 builds are usually cheaper.

The GTS 250 is plenty for your current resolution but if you go to 1920 its not quite enough, I would get a GTX 260.

I have an E8400 also and it is awesome (OC to 3.8ghz easy) but if i were building a computer now I would buy a quad core, even a Q9400 OC to 3.4 which is only 30$ or so more expensive. Or a Q9550. A quad would make your system a lot more future proof.
