5770 @ 1920x1080

Will a single card system with a ATI 5770 1GB handle this res fine?

Also do you think this PSU can handle this video card?

I've read that the 5xxx series require less power but someone told me that the rails on that PSU did not have enough for a 5770.

18a x 12v = 216 watts. Should be enough for a 5770.

You should be able to handle 1920x1080 for all but maybe a few games at high settings.

You will be more than fine with that PSU. I think I'd even run a 5850 on that without any issues. Well assuming your system doesn't have a ton of drives and OCed to all heck.

Actually I have the same question. Would it power a 920, 5770, dvd drive, HD, sound card but no OC? Currently I was thinking about the 700W version (because of combos)

You might wanna consider a 4890 for 1080p gaming since I think it's more powerful at 256 bit. We have a 5770 and 4890 both from sapphire and the 4890 seems more powerful too at multi tasking. We experiemented with connecting 2 17 inch lcd monitors @ 1280x1024 to the 5770. I play left 4 dead 2 while my gf watches netflix with the other monitor and the game seems to slow down. All settings were placed to performance level by the way. I also posted something about 3dmark06 scores between the 5770 and 4890, kinda confusing that the 5770 had a little bit higher score but lags at gameplay with dual monitor use. I guess you can compare that to 1080p use.

@ FUNK1911: The PSU will be fine, for a powerful card the '5770 sips power.
As for its gaming ability: That depends on your expectations, but the '5770 does start to lag behind the HD4870 (or GTX260) at that resolution and is even further behind the HD4890 (or GTX275).
FYI I'm at 1920x1200 and it runs everything perfectly, but then again, I'm not trying to play Crysis Warhead with 8XAA!

A 920 overclocked to 3.3ghz with a 5770 only puts out 256w at full load. So yes 500w is plenty.
