Any help greatly appreciated.

I have a Western Digital 3TB external Hard drive
Please let me know if we can make 8 partitions on Western Digital 3TB external
hard drive. Is there a way to make more than 4 partitions. I have Windows 7 Professional 64bit operating system.

I would like to use 3 Partitions for installing Unix/Linux, Windows Xp
operating system and the rest for storage.

Thanks a lot

Regards,
Rama

there is only a limit on number of primary partition, you should be able to make 3 more operatng system. you can then make as many logical partition as you want which can be used for storage.

So short answer is yes you can make 8 partition.

Thank you sir for the Info. What is the best way Sir to partition a WD 3T External Hard drive into Primary and Logical partitions without any issues and also accessible from a Windows 7 professional 64 bit operating system computer?
May I know a free software that can help me in making a WD 3TB External Hard drive partitioning?

How many Primary and Logical partitions I can make on a WD 3TB Ext.
Hard drive? And how to do that Sir?

I want to allocate 3 for installing difft. Operating systems
like Linux, Unix, Windows XP and 5 for data storage.

Thanks & Regards,
Rama
