I have re formated the hard drive and installed windows 98 on a
friends pico 76200t notebook (laptop). Everything is fine but I cant
get the sound to work. There are no warnings flaged up in device
manager which tells me that the es1879 sound card is working fine. If
I plug in a set of headphones I can hear the sound very faintly. I
have looked all over the outside of this laptop for a physical volume
control but couldnt see anything. There are volume shortcuts on the
keyboard (fn + x for for mut and fn + f11/12 for vol up and down) but
they didn't help. Any thoughts appreciated.
