I have just completed a 'first draft' of my system and i want opinons on what its like and advice on how to improve it. I am going to use this computer for gaming and ONLY gaming. probably won't be overclocking out of the box but i might when the system starts to struggle with gaming this is the same for crossfire. Note i already have: 24inch screen, CD/DVD drive, keyboard, mouse, speakers.
Not too worried about the looks of the case but i want good cooling. i live in australia so prices are high just to note.
Down the 790X for a 770 or 785G chipset and AM3 is dual channel so either go single stick 2GB DDR3 or 2 x 2 depending on budget? For 24" gaming i would try to hit a HD 4870/GTX 260 whichever is cheaper where u at
I'd go for 4GB of DDR3 with the best timings you can find.
I'd go with the 720 triple core, because when you do need to OC down the road having a BE is very nice and simple.
I'd use the savings from the motherboard decrease to buy a 4890.
------------------------------i7 920 @ 3.33gHz, X58-UD4P, 6GB OCZ Gold 1333mHz, 4890 @ 925mHz, WD Caviar Black 500 and 640 GB, PCP&C 750W, and a CM V8 all stuffed into a CM 690

as for downing the motherboard to a 770 or 780 wont that mean that i cant run crossfire. if no then what board would you suggest. the only boards i can lay my hands or are Asus and Gigabyte.
Your motherboard is a bit too pricey a $120ish 785G is enough, personally I'd go for the x4 810. for RAM go for 2 x 2GB kit, should be about $120 for ripjaws 1600mhz. For case ditch the Coolermaster and get Antec 300 that's only $80 and really worth it. For GPU I'd go for 4890 which is about $240ish.
Also another suggest is Core i5, Gigabyte or Asus P55 MB start from $150 and Core i5 should be around $230 so similar to your Phenom prices.
