How to disable HT?

Hi all,
My first Q on Tom's Harware![:)]( ":)")
I have the Alienware Aurora ALX, nice computer but I can't disable HT in BIOS - there is not an option to do this![:/]( ":/")
there were at my last computer (Dell Studio XPS 435MT) with same chipset, in advanced settings (or something simular ![:)]( ":)")
) but now I'm stuck.
Is there a way with software to shut it off?
Main reason is that GRiD will not run with 8 "cores" and editing of some config. files didn't do the trick..

Grid wont notice any differenece between 1/2/4/6/8 cores weather they are physical or logical.
Most software these days - especially games will not make use of more than two cores at best.
HT is of limited or noticeable use to most people and i seriously doubt that it will stop Grid from running.
Which operating system are you running ?
